Advent Calendar Comparison: This Bundesliga Club Charges the Most for Its Chocolate Advent Calendar
The holiday season is approaching, and Bundesliga clubs have already started offering their Advent calendars in their online shops. This year, things get particularly pricey at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. The club charges €13.27 per 100 grams for its chocolate calendar. This is the result of our latest analysis, in which we examined the prices of Advent calendars from all Bundesliga clubs. All chocolate calendars were reviewed based on their retail price and filling weight, and converted into a standardized price per 100 grams.
Mainz Close Behind Top Spot Holder Hoffenheim
Right behind Hoffenheim is 1. FSV Mainz 05, with a price of €11.93 per 100 grams for its chocolate calendar. Third place among the most expensive Advent calendars goes to 1. FC Köln at €10.60 per 100 grams. The top five are completed by 1. FC Union Berlin with its large calendar version (€10.26 per 100 grams) and Borussia Dortmund (€10.00 per 100 grams). Notably, Union’s large calendar ranks among the most expensive in the league, while the smaller version is significantly more affordable.
These Clubs Offer the Cheapest Advent Calendars
Fans of SV Werder Bremen have every reason to be cheerful. Their Advent calendar is the cheapest in the league. At €7.50 per 100 grams, the club leads the ranking of the most affordable offers. Following close behind are 1. FC Union Berlin with its smaller calendar version (€7.79 per 100 grams), Borussia Mönchengladbach (€7.93), VfL Wolfsburg (€8.00), and FC Augsburg (€8.98 per 100 grams).
For four clubs—Eintracht Frankfurt, SC Freiburg, 1. FC Heidenheim, and FC St. Pauli (which does not offer a calendar)—the price per 100 grams could not be calculated due to missing information on filling weight.
Bundesliga Advent Calendars in Google Search
In addition to the price evaluation, we analyzed Google search volumes related to the Advent calendars of Bundesliga clubs. The data shows a clear seasonal pattern: interest increases significantly from September onwards and peaks in November.
Bayern Munich dominates online interest. With 6,600 searches in October 2025, the club reached the highest value in the entire study. Search volume increased from 1,600 in September to 6,600 in October. Hamburger SV (880 in September; 4,400 in October), Eintracht Frankfurt, and VfB Stuttgart also record consistently high values, benefiting from strong and active fan bases. For the latter two, search volume rose from 480 in September to 1,900 in October 2025.
TSG Hoffenheim, offering the most expensive calendar at €13.27 per 100 grams, ranks far behind in search volume (10 searches in both September and October 2025). Union Berlin, which sells both a premium large and a cheaper small version, similarly receives little online attention (10 searches in September; 40 in October). On the opposite end is SV Werder Bremen: despite offering the cheapest Bundesliga calendar (€7.50/100 g), the club generates only limited online interest (10 searches in September; 90 in October 2025
"Our analysis clearly shows that price and demand for fan Advent calendars hardly correlate,"
explains Matthias Lange, CEO of Localyzer.
"While high-priced calendars such as Hoffenheim’s and low-cost ones like Bremen’s attract little online attention, it is ultimately brand strength that drives demand. Clubs like Bayern Munich or Eintracht Frankfurt demonstrate that fan loyalty and brand reach continue to have the strongest digital impact."
About the Study
For this year’s analysis, Localyzer reviewed the Advent calendar offerings of all official online fan shops of Bundesliga clubs during October and November 2025. The retail price and listed filling weight of each chocolate Advent calendar were captured. Based on this information, the price per 100 grams was calculated to enable comparability across clubs. Additionally, Localyzer evaluated Google search volumes related to the clubs’ Advent calendars to measure online fan interest. Data collection took place in October 2025, covering the period from November 2024 to October 2025.
